Tochinoshin’s beautiful wedding in Japan

Tochinoshin is a Georgina sumo wrestler making his career in Japan. His real name is Levan Gorgadze. Levan is from Mtskheta, the ancient capital of the Eastern Georgian Kingdom. He married his childhood friend Nino Rostiashvili in 2015. The couple celebrated their wedding in Japan. According to the Japanese wedding traditions, they wore a range of wedding outfits. Levan invited all his Georgian friends living in Japan to his wedding. After the 3-hour wedding ceremony, the couple  went home and celebrated the day in Georgian way accompanying with traditional dances and toasts.
The lifestyle of a sumo wrestler is far from the one of an ordinary person. Sumo wrestlers should be physically and emotionally ready to challenge the professional sumo wrestling. In a professional sumo wrestling, the adaptation is a hard process not only for foreigners but for the locals as well. Newcomers are supposed to wake up at 6 a.am and do practices until 11 a.m. They are not allowed to carry mobile phones. Besides they cannot marry until they move to an elite group. They have to be in a club and fight for the elite group. Although Tochinoshin couldn’t speak a single word of Japanese, he was determined to pursue a career in sumo and luckily, he made it. Recently, he had been participating in the November Basho tournament in Fukuoka, Japan. Tochinoshin collected 8 wins out of 15 bouts and ensured Kacho Koshi (a majority of wins in sumo tournaments). Tochinoshin is a holder of ōzeki title, the second highest rank in sumo. Due to his positive balance on the tournament 8:7, he maintains the title. In June this year, Levan was granted the title of the honorary citizen of Mtskheta for his achievements in Sumo.
