Tbilisi is the capital of Georgia. According to a legend, King Vakhtang Gorgasali was hunting in the woods on the banks of the Kura River and wounded a pheasant. The bird ran to the sulfur springs that healed it immediately. The King was amazed by the healing features of the spring and decided to build a city around it. Tbilisi is a mixture of cultures, models of architecture, different religious and ethnic groups.
Gudauri is the best ski resort in Georgia with well-developed infrastructure. It is located at an elevation of 2,200 meters (7,200 ft.) above sea level. Even though Gudauri is considered to be a winter resort, it is attractive for tourists in summer as well. Backpacking trips are one of the most attractive activities there for visitors.
