Tokyo hosts exhibition from Georgia

The University of Tokyo has held an exhibition dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Georgian independence. The exhibition was organised by the National Archives of Georgia and the University of Tokyo. The exhibition presents the main events of 1918-1921, during which Georgia enjoyed a brief period of independence, in addition to the steps the country took in the 20th century to establish democratic values and principles.
The National Archives of Georgia presented manuscripts, as well as photo chronicles describing important events such as: the restoration of independence of the Republic of Georgia, the ratification of Georgia’s first constitution, establishing an independent governance system, the election of representatives to the legislative branch of both genders – five of 20 female candidates managed to be appointed to the assembly.
The exhibition will continue until December 7.
