Georgian restaurant in Poland

Georgian restaurant in Warsaw became the winner of ‘The best restaurant of the year’ poll, accumulating more votes than Polish and Italian venues.

‘This nomination has existed for the last ten years and it is a great honor for us to be the winners. I and my son have received three diplomas. Winning in a foreign country is even more important for us’, – Rusiko Turkistanishvili said.

The restaurant called Rusiko, where five Georgians are employed,

was opened in Warsaw on April 9, 2015, by Davit Turkistanishvili. He chose that name in honor of his mother, who is also the chef in the same restaurant. Davit Turkistanishvili has been living in Poland for 15 years already and before opening his own restaurant, has worked in this field for quite a long time.

Rusiko Turkistanishvili says there is a very good atmosphere in Poland and that is very important for their business to develop. As for the locals, they love Georgian food and accordingly, the number of visitors is increasing day by day. One can find almost any Georgian dish here, including KhinkaliKhachapuriChakapuli, Tabaki, Kubdari etc. As for the spices, they take them from Georgia.

‘Opening a restaurant in Poland is not a mere business for us. We also try to show the best sides of Georgian culture and traditional dishes to the local public’.

‘The best restaurant of the year’ poll is carried out annually by one of the most popular Polish newspapers, Gazeta Wyborcza.
